This Palestinian hacker was honored by Pentagon. You’ll be amazed why

The Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defence recently honored the Palestinian hacker Amjad Qabha and added his name to their “List of Honors”. It is a list of people who help them protect their website from hackers.

According to a statement issued by Al-Quds Open University, in which Qabha is enrolled, the IT student had discovered a “Cross-Site Request Forger” (CSRF) flaw that would allow cyber criminals to hack into Pentagon agents’ accounts.  Amazing thing about him was that inspite of discovering a flaw he did not use it to his interest or advantage. He immediately reported this matter and Pentagon was able to rectify the loophole.

It is not the first time that Qabha has done this. Previously he has discovered flaws and loopholes in approximately 50 websites which has some big names like Facebook, Google, Western Union and Master Card.

In the IT world he is known as “white hat”, an ethical hacker as he looks for loopholes in websites of major corporate houses and organisations and reports it so as to strengthen the cyber security.

Amjad works on construction sites to earn his living. His main aim is to empower the Palestinians in this field and protect them.
